MacOS Sequoia - Adobe Acrobat Pro - Printing Issues

Hi There!

I was wondering if anybody else has had printing issues since updating to macOS Sequoia? I am trying to print on my PIXMA Pro-100 and need to enter the page setup dialog to select borderless printing, however, since updating under the "Format For" none of my printers show up.

I am using a Macbook Pro with Adobe Creative Cloud. My Adobe Acrobat Pro is running version 24.1

If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be happy to try them out.

Thanks!

If it helps anyone else, I just got mine to work by downloading and installing the latest Sequoia developer beta 4 release. Once the beta 4 was finished installing the printer dialogue boxes once again allow a printer to be selected.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Diagnostic log: 7c726cc7-0e90-4ba6-a3c2-cd1e1c930a64

From the print dialogue box, "Page Setup" no longer shows installed printers. Clicking the "Printer" button often crashes, either on click or when the dialogue box opens, switching to a different preset.

Hi @Sandy Point Resorts @scottpscott

Are the printers not showing up in Sequoia is specific to PDF opened in Adobe Acrobat or any other file as well. Like for example - If you open the PDF in let's say Apple's Preview and try to print, are the printers showing up there?

  • If those are showing up, then we'll have to investigate further .
  • If those are not whowing up even for other apps like Preview, then you may have to work with Apple support to get it resolved.

Hey I have the same issue,

I can print from preview no problem, it is acrobat where the printers do not show up on the printer settings page and, whilst I can print, the print is full of errors.

I know this is partially because the drivers are out of date as they have not updated to seqouia, however I am still able to print from preview on both my Ricoh IM C4500 and Canon TM-300

Thanks

Hi @shaktikeshri,

The problem is not with a specific PDF, it is for all other files opened in Adobe Acrobat.

The printers show up in Preview; which is how I finally managed to print my file. However, I do have other projects that require printing and I need to access tiling and other options that I don't think Preview offers.

The screenshot attached is when printing through Preview.

I have the same issue. Not only in the Acrobat, but in all of the adobe products, after updating to MacOS Sequoia. None of them shows any printer on the page setup dialog.

Hi Everyone,

We are not able to reproduce the issue at our end yet. We are investigating the logs shared by @Sandy Point Resorts and working with our support team to connect with any of you to have a meeting and understand the issue in details for further investigation and resolution.

Same here. The first dialog box only shows Any Printer. WHen I go to the next printer dialog box to choose my options it suddenly quits. This happens with Acrobat and Illustrator so far

My printer is an HP PageWide Pro 477.

I had the same problem, can't print from Acrobat (the Print Centre opens, the printer starts, but no page is printed and the job finishes without any error in the Print Centre). This, for any PDF in Acrobat. Same files can be printed in Preview.

I found a way to fix it (and I think identified where it is coming from).

In the Print dialog from Acrobat, click on the 'Advanced' button. If your setting is 'Acrobat Default', you will have the problem (no print). If you change ANY setting, print is working as expected. Even better, if you change any setting and revert it back to what it was, printing will work!

I suggest to just check/uncheck one of the settings ('Print as image' for example). The global setting will change to 'Custom' and problem is fixed (you can save this setting if you want to).

Looks like the default setting of Acrobat is somehow corrupt!

Oops, re-reading the whole thread, it does not seem to be the same issue, sorry.

The issue here is the printer not showing up, mine was the document is not printed.

Anyway, I found another issue, how to fix it and ideas for Adobe on where to search 😉

Hi, I have this problem too,  after updating to MacOS Sequoia. I have installed the latest MacOS update - 15.0.1, re-installed printer drivers, updated Acrobat. No printer is available in page setup only 'any printer'. Also relevant paper sizes are missing from 'paper size' – I had to create custom paper sizes to get round this. When printing from Preview the paper sizes are available, so it is an Acrobat problem. Please see attached screengrab for reference.

Hey, this is exactly the issue I am still experiencing two+ weeks on from updating. Have reinstalled printers, driver, adobe creative cloud and all apps, everything. Preview does not have this issue so I am printing everything from that, but it is incredibly annoying to not be able to print direct from my adobe apps.

I have the exact same problem. In addition, Acrobat crashes a lot when printing - this is a part of the error message -

Crashed Thread: 36 Dispatch queue: com.apple.printingplugins.printerpopup

Has anybody else experienced this?

In addition, Acrobat crashes at least 6 times a day – Is Adobe going to fix this?
