Explorer ,
May 06, 2024 May 06, 2024

clicking a mailto in Acrobat will always open the outlook classic because the acrobat app does not see new outlook as a default mail app in preferences.

Can we get this fixed?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Please go through the help page https://adobe.ly/4bX9qVl and see if that works for you.

You may also go to  Preferences (ctrl, cmd+K)> Email Account > Add Account and then enter the new email address and select the new email and Click on 'Make Default' and see if that helps.

Hello Amal,

Thanks for trying to help. The issue is here that Acrobat does not recognize the New Outlook App from the Microsoft Store as installed. It only sees the installed client version of Outlook that is packaged with M365. This probably has something to do with the way the app is installed, but it is still an Adobe issue, not Microsoft.

I am also having this issue. When clicking the submit form button it opens with the old Outlook application and not the new. There is no option to select Outlook (New) in Adobe settings. It doesnt recognize the app.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists, Would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Regards
Amal

I can do this. But logs isnt going to solve this. Instead of us having to put in work for you. How about you use the new outlook. Try to use a submit form button and see what happens. Then youll understand the trouble we are having.

Hello Amal,

I agree, logs are not going to get the information you are looking for. You can install the Oultook (New) app from the Microsoft Store and then attempt a mailto and you will see it opens the older version of outlook.
