Hi all,
I have a fillable PDF that is used as a template and then sent to clients to be signed. Currently, the fillable sections are still editable when sent to the client. Is there an easy was to make them read-only once thetext has been filled/updated and before the PDF is sent for signatures?
I've been reading about Javascript, but it's not something I know how to do in Acrobat.
Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Megan,
If I get it right, then you are willing to create/send a form for signature, but want to disable the fillable form fileds. So that end user can add the signature on it, but would not be able to fill or make any chance in the fileds.
Did I get it correct? If yes, then here's what we can try and see if it fulils the requiremet.
Option:1
Open fillable form in desktop app Adobe Acrobat DC>Prepare form tool
Right click on form field>Properties>select Reader-only
Disable all the fields you want to restrict
Now>Request Signature>Add signature filed>Assign to sender and send.
Option:2
Exactly what we did above. You can Make the for field Read-Only while sending for signature.
Open Form>Request Signature>double click on form filed>dialog box will be open>select Read-only
Assign signature filed and send.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Akanchha

Thanks Akanchha,
That does help to some degree...
Ideally i'd like to be able to make the form fields read only without going through the whole document everytime i use it. This is tideous and not super realistic to do everytime. I was hoping there was a wawy to simply save the file as read only without including the signature fileds. If there is a script to do this, that might be the best option (despite the fact I know othing about scripts!)
Cheers,
Megan
