Make text more visible

I have a pdf file where the text is very light, hard to read.

How do I make the text more visible? Darker - not Bold.

Or can I change the background colour of the pages to make the text more visible?

Try Replace Document Colors.

Note this does not change the file itself, though, just the way it's displayed (on your computer).
