Hi sd95548406,

By "dimensioning line weight of the measuring tool" do you mean the thickness of the line?

If yes, you can decrease the thickness of the line from the Dimension line properties window.

For that, select the dimension line and then right click on it.

Select properties from the drop down and change the thickness under the Appearance tab.

Check the screenshot below:

dimension.PNG

After changing the thickness, check the box for "Make Properties Default" and click OK to save settings.

So the next time you use measuring tool, you do not have to change the thickness.

Let us know if you have any questions or if you are referring to something else.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi @Stellar_Exteriors,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat!

I have shared a screenshot of the settings that I tried, and it worked for me.

Also adding a screen recording for a better understanding.

Let me know if this is what you were referring to.

I found the asnwer on another thread...

Change the thickness of the ploygon line under comments to 1pt.

I am delighted I found the answer, but this is the most stupid place to make the change to the line thickness, is this a bug Adobe, that could be fixed?

Click the line to select it, then right-click it and select Properties.

Hi Meenakshi,

Your solution is for the line weighting once the measurement has already been completed. I think what the OP is asking (and what I am also having an issue with) is the thickness of the line when the measurement is still happening. For example this only happens when I am using the perimeter measuring tool - I can't see what I'm measuring because the line is so thick, but after the measurement is complete the line snaps to the "1" thickness it is set to in the dimension line properties window. It's very frustrating and I have no idea how to fix it.

If you have a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having this exact same problem - the measuring line so thick I can't see what I'm doing tried everything and couldn't find a way to restore it (and not sure why it changed in the first place!)  Did you find a solution Farzin?

I'm having the same issue on Mac. It's a bug surely? The line is ridiculously thick and there's no aparent way to change it.

I had the same problem. To fix this:

  • Select the Polygon Line Tool  Chrissy23082816fb09_0-1722886194323.png
  • Draw a line.
  • Right click the line & change the properties to the settings you want.
  • Check off Make Properties Default & click ok.

This should change the properties of your measurment line as you are measuring!

Unfortunately no, that doesn't fix it.

I am having the same issue.

When I measure, the line thickness during the measure is far too heavy/thick. When the measurement is completed it then goes to the 1pt as I have selected. I can't see where you change the thickness of the line while measuring. It is so thick, it is difficult to see corners or small details during the measure.

Hi @MG121314,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for letting us know what worked for you.

In the screen recording, the line thickness is selected from the properties window. This can be reached by right-clicking on any particular measurement line and then locking the thickness from there.

Regards,
Souvik.

Yes, there seems to be a bug, and why myself and other people are asking.

When you have set and saved the thickness of a ploygon line under comments (which you would feel is unrelated to measuring a polygon), when you then measure a ploygone the final weight of the line is the weight selected with the measuring tool, but during the drawing process it is the thicjness of the comment plygon weight.

I didn't work this out myself, I found someone else's thread on this with the answer. It was driving me nuts, but solved by changing the weight of the commented polygon. So I'm happy there is a workaround - but it is definitely a bug.
