Message "Error! Main document only" when creating pdf from Word document

Community Beginner ,

When trying to create a pdf from a Word document (latest version) I suddenly am getting this message in random footnotes in the document:

"Error! Main document only." I have no idea what this is and nothing seems to get rid of it.

Hi Normanr,

As you get the error message while trying to create PDF from the Word file, it seems that the issue is with the Word file.

You have mentioned above that you get the "message in random footnotes in the documents". Could you please elaborate.

Please share the exact workflow you do when you get the error message.

Would it be possible to share the Word file with us? We would like to check it on our end.

To share a file with us, refer to the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

We will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Tank you for your reply. I have followed your instructions and here is the link for my document:

The error message in this document appears in almost every footnote from no. 4 on, as you can see. I think you are right that this is a Word problem but I don’t know how to fix it. Any help will be appreciated.

Would you mind sharing the Word file too?

We need to check if there is something on the file that results in the error message.

Also, please share the Acrobat and OS version installed on the machine.

Regards,

Meenakshi
