Missing "Make OCR text visible" profile in preflight

Hi.

I'm trying to create a PDF file that has a separate layer of OCR text. I'm following steps posted here: https://blogs.adobe.com/documentcloud/hidden-gems-in-acrobat-dc-how-to-optimize-hidden-ocr-text/

But when I get to step 4, I'm not seeing a "Make OCR text visible" profile. I've looked in the Essential, PDF Standards, and Prepress, Color, and Transparency libraries.

Any thoughts?

Thanks Bernd for your reply.

I only just started using Acrobat Pro DC this year (2017). So I'm not seeing this profile on my Mac. Do you know where I might be able to download this library?

When you bring up the Preflight tool, you need to switch to the "Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Profiles" category:

Once you've done that, you can search for e.g. "OCR" to find the profile you are looking for:

Once selected, you can click on the "Analyze and fix" button to execute it.

Thanks Karl.

Unfortunately, I don't have that option from the pull down. Just Essential, PDF Standards, or Prepress...

That's why I was hoping to find the 2015 profiles as a way to import the library with that OCR profile

Any clue? I haven't been able to find a link to the 2015 profiles.

Thanks for this old thread... I also couldn't find the "Make OCR text visible" selection, but "Karl_Heinz_Kremer" led me down the path to find "Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Profiles". It was also not in the dropdown options, but I was able to get it to show up again by:

- Creating a new library in the preflight library dropdown.

- Selecting "Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Profiles" in the "Initial Set of Profiles" dropdown.

The new library now has OCR option.

Hope this helps someone two years later.
