In my work I need to print documents from Public Records to compile reports. After I print them I need to copy and paste portions of the text of the document into a different document. Copying and pasting text has never been a problem when printing documents from either MS IE 11 or Chrome, but it sure it in Edge! When I click on a word or phrase to copy, I get a whole section of page. Any suggestion on how to fix this other than ditching Edge.

Hi There,
Thanks for reporting the issue here with us.
As per the details mentioned here, seems like you're using the Adobe PDF Printer GDI path which hence is unable to get the text in case of these browsers but the same is as expected.
If using the IE browser, the text would be available but not for Chrome and Edge.
Instead, we can suggest the customer to use the Create PDF > Web Page path.
Please do let us know, if anything else is required from our end.

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described MS Edge is causing irregularities with document printing restricting the ability to Copy and Paste
Would you mind sharing the workflow/steps you are doing to print the documents from public records? Are you printing to PDF? If yes, please try to create the PDF from the file menu of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC as follows: go to File menu > Create > PDF form, and see if that helps.
Also make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20091 of Adobe Acrobat DC installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.
For more information about reusing the PDF content please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/reusing-pdf-content.html
Let us know if you experience any trouble and need more help.

Hi, Amal:
I access the county property appraisers or tax collections websites. From there I pull up the property for which I am generating the report using the street address. Then print a summary via Print Adobe PDF. Sometimes I access the print function from the Hamburger stack in the upper right corner of the screen and sometimes I just right click on the screen and print. Both produce that same result, as you know. I've illustrated this via the Hamburger Stack. There is no FILE button that I can see.
Results are saved to the applicable file on my HD.
Next step is to copy and paste text into a Summary sheet that feeds into an invoice. Both are Adobe PDF Files that use form fields to share the pasted data between the to pages. The information that needs to be trasferred from the Document to the Summary are the Full Address, Parcel Number and the name of the homeowner. I like to use copy and paste for this to avoid any discrepencies between the public record information and what goes on the report I create.
I have installed the lastest update for Adobe Acrobat. I did so last night followed by a full reboot.
I have tried using Acrobat's OCR function but it did not work nor did it override the situation with section of the page being highlighted rather than individual words, as illustrated in the attachments to my origina post. I know that the pages for the property appraiser and tax collector are not restricted from copying and pasting as I can do that just fine if I acccess them and print them from IE 11 or Chrome. (I am not restricted from using either IE 11 or Chrome, but I've been told that Edge is more "secure." Whatever that means in our world.)
Please let me know if you need more and thank you so much for the helpful information.

The File menu referred to is in Acrobat, where it can create a PDF from a web page. May not work if the site needs a login, but when it does work it should do a MUCH better job than "print to PDF" ever could.

In addition to the good information above, Edge may be adding random shapes above the desired type, try deleting the shapes as you select them, does that make selecting the type below easier?
