My zip files are being saved as pdfs and I can't stop it

I recently downloaded adobe acrobat reader for a project I was working on. I hadn't used it much since. But I was downloading some files and accidentally clicked "open with adobe acrobat reader" on one and now every zip file (I have yet to try it with others) saves as a pdf with the adobe logo on it. I've tried everything I've found online but they didn't work and it also seems that they were also for a different problem than mine. Gonna keep trying though.

Just do the reverse.. select one of the files with a zip/7z extension and select Properties > Opens with: Change ... there you set the app of your choice for decompressing archives going forward.
