need help unlocking documents

every once in a while while im working on a document, the document locks itself with no way to unlock it. i have created these files myself.

this happens usually while im deleting excess pages of documents i have added that dont need to be in this specific file.

I am using adobe regular (64bit) v 24.3.20112.0

Is your document stored on your hard drive or on a server/a Cloud?

@dennis_1612 I was curious about this as we are moving to Microsoft products...according to the IT team, it may have to do with OneDrive syncing issues. Our IT team suggested to temporarily disable automatic synchronization or the anti-virus on our macs and try editing the PDF offline. I guess it's a known issue. 

My IT Team sent me this to try as well!

OneDrive may not be syncing a file because it’s open and in use by another application. The fix for this is simple: Just close the file in question and give OneDrive a moment to process the update. Once the file is synced, you should then be able to open it again and resume your work.

unfortunately even after a day the problem is still there.

the work around i have is to just print the file to PDF and the issue will no onger pop up, but printing files of 400 to 500 pages takes  quite awhile sadly.

Otherwise you can:

- open the document and save it to your hard drive,

- work on the document,

- then save(as) or copy it back to One Drive.

I will try that and see if the problem persists.

unfortunately this did not make a difference, the problem keeps persissting.

Hi @dennis_1612 Just curious if the issue still exists? Are you saying, that document restriction gets changed on some edit operation without you changing that? And once that happens, you can't edit it. Is it?

1. can you confirm, if you try to edit the same file locally as well,  restrictions get applied?

2. Pls update your app to latest version 20180 and try

3. can you pls share one such file ?

indeed, that is the issue. somewhere while working on the document. restrictions get appield that make it im no longer allowed to edit the document. however the file also says there are no restrictions on it.

1. editing on either desktop or one drive makes no difference. even tried it on a shared server but issue persists there also.

2. just happend again while on 24.3.20180.0

3. unfortunately i can not, a lot of confidential info in there, and due to being unable to edit out the confidential info i cannot share it :(.
