New and Need Help Quickly, Please

New Here ,
Mar 24, 2025 Mar 24, 2025

This morning at 10 a.m. PST, my PDF via Adobe Axrobat was fine with all my edits over the weekend.  I screenshared. The rep was unable to help change bold texts to normal or any of my other requests.  He pushed for AI. I agreed. We worked on the PDF for an hour. with multiple saves by him on the floppy disk icon in the upper right corner.  When I opened my file a couple of hours later. I had multiple boxes with x in them.  The first rep removed Adobe from my computer and the senior rep - said it was a font issue and to do everything in Word.

DOES THE COMMUNITY KNOW HOW TO TELL ME HOW TO REVERT THE FILE THAT GOT THE BOXES WITH THE X? DID THE REP TAKE MY BOOK AND SAVE FOR HIS PURPOSE THE BOOK ON FILE? NEED SOME REASSURANCE ON THIS. AND, IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN EASILY HELP ME REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL?  OH, AND HOW DO I GET RID OF AI. THANKS, TERESA

Hi Teresa @t_j_8513,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

Let's answer some questions first:

1. For any of our reps to get a file from your device, you will have to authorize the transfer. A pop-up will appear through the tool they use to screen share for your authorization.

2. If you are not happy with the Acrobat AI Assistant services, you can disable the same by going to Preferences-> Generative AI-> uncheck the checkbox saying "Enable Generative AI features in Acrobat"-> Restart Acrobat.

To reverse the changes, I have a question: Did you create a copy of the file and then work on it, or did you make the changes to the original document?

Also, since the changes were done through Acrobat, you can use the "Undo" option to revert changes, but I cannot guarantee it will allow you to revert all the changes made.

It would be interesting to understand the situation when you say; you see "X" on the boxes.

Any chances of you sharing the file with us for investigation?

Regards,
Souvik.
