No longer printing A3 size

Wondering if anyone has had problems recently printing to A3 size from Acrobat. We use Acrobat all the time and it's been printing any size from A5 to SRA3 on our printer fine. Some update has occured and it now refuses to print any size bigger than A4. To say it's frustrating is an understatement. We've been in contact with the supplier of the printer and they cannot re-create the issue we have, it prints fine from any other program just not Acrobate. Please help!

The new version of Adobe Acrobat (23.01.20143), addressing this issue is now available. Please update the application from the Help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

 

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

 

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.2.20191 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

 

What happens when you try to print the PDF file to A3 page size? Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding. A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.

 

Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html and see if that works.

Hi Amal

Thank you for responding.

We have the latest version of Acrobat. But it's ALL pdfs, bigger than A4 that we're having problems with. We simply cannot print any bigger than A4. 

I've tried printing A3 on another printer and that prints ok. All the drivers we have with the one we cannot print A3 to are up-to-date and their tech team have tried to re-create the problem but cannot. Again, we can print A4 but nothing bigger.

We have to inport the pdf and print direct from InDesign or Illustrator to get round the problem. It's simply very frustrating. I'll try and do a video/screenshot.

Has there been any resolution to this problem? I still cannot print A3 pdfs from adobe and have tries a host of things (repair install, updates, reinstall printers and drivers etc).

Hi,

 

I am having this problem now, I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro version 2023.008.20533.

 

I have checked for updates and there are none available.

 

I can print from other applications to A3 just fine.

What is the make and model of the printer? please check for any missing/pending printer updates and try updating it.

 

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different file and check if that works.

 

Please collect the print logs https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-print-logs-for-acrobat.html and share them for further investigation.

Hi Amal,

 

Thank you for the reply.

 

I do not get any error messages.  My printer just prints in A4.

 

I am using an Epson WF7830.  However as I say, I can print from other applications to A3 just fine, e.g. Edge, Archicad, Word.

 

It is with any PDF. 

 

I don't understand the instructions to get the print logs, specifically I don't know how to go to > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

We are sorry to hear that, We would need the print logs to further narrow down the investigation.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is easy to find and open using the Registry Editor tool included in all versions of Windows: Open Registry Editor. Executing the regedit command in the Run box is a quick way to get there. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on the left-hand side of Registry Editor
