OCR a converted file - but still need to save it first, why?

In short this is the scenario:

r-click a file (e.g. a jpg) and select conver to PDF

Acrobat opens and shows the file (as PDF)

then I start OCR this file

(Created an action and added it as button to the toolbar)

Action is to handle the 'Current open file'

However, running my 'OCR this file'-button prompts me to save the open file first: the 'Files to be processed:" box remains empty.
Maybe.. because the converted file needs to be saved first(?)

Could not figure out how to have :

a. Convert file to PDF automatically save the file (alongside the source) - after converting CTRL-S still prompts for file name

b. have the file in the 'Files to be processed' box

Any suggestions?

FWIW I have added some screenshots.

Thanks!

Hi adwul62,

Thank you for reaching out.

As mentioned above, the file does not save automatically as you required.

Would you mind sharing the screen recording of the complete workflow to better understand the process?

Share the Acrobat and OS versions in use. We will replicate the behavior and give you the correct information after our findings.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hello to you,

Thanks for the reply. I added some screenshots to my first post. Not sure what other screenshots you need, please let me know. I am using Acrobot 2020 Pro (non-DC) on Windows 10 x64.

Thanks again.
