Good afternoon,
we are using Windows 10 1809 and connect our Network Drives via DFS-Shares.
Here's the problem:
The user opens a PDF file from a network drive. The PDF opens normally in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (current version 2020.006.20034). However, if you want to open a 2nd PDF file, even from a network drive, which should open as a 2nd tab in Adobe Reader, nothing happens and no file is opened. (we took the latest version, but without success). The problem exists with every user and with every computer, regardless of whether Göttingen or e.g. Northeim.
The network drive is mapped as DFS share via GPO on a Windows 10 machine.
1. bug fixing: The error does not occur anymore if you deactivate the protected mode in the security settings.
2. bug fixing: We did not use the DFS share, but mapped the network drive with the direct server name (UNC path). From there on, opening the 2nd PDF works with the protected mode switched on. So there seems to be a problem with the DFS Share in combination with the acrobat reader.
Note: We have connected several network drives, also via DFS share, where these problems do not occur with several PDF files. The data is only stored on a different server.
It works on all other servers, but not on this particular one. The chat support only provides me to go to the forum to place my problem here. Do you have any idea how to solve that in general or does someone know about this problem?
Thank you in advance and Best Regards
