Hello,
We use a third party vendor to convert our pdf files into pdf/a compliant files.
The process works without any errors, but some files fails verification in adobe.
Can you please provide insight on what is missing and why verification fails?

Please show a screenshot of the verification failure message, and say the exact version of Acrobat you are using (not "latest" please).

You probably need to use the Preflight tool to do a detailed check.
Open preflight (use Tool Search if needed), choose PDF/A compliance and "Analyze"

I found I needed to click (in preflight) on "Convert to PDF/A-2b" and click Analyse. This gives one technical error which you can maybe report to the third party vendor.

Ah, I see what you did. You did not choose the right profile, your report is checking for "Uses PDF 2.0 features" (PDF 2.0 is not connected to PDF/A-2).

If the file fails verification , what changes need to be made to the file so that it passes verification process.

The preflight report tells you that. To try and fix it, use preflight to fix, not just verify. Often it can fix.
Or, report this error to the software vendor, and hope they will fix it in the future.
