PDF Form - Drop down needs to be selected twice after update

Hello,

sinde the last update I have the following issue with my PDF Forms.

If I select a Drop Down field, the drop shows all entries, closes itself automatically and changes to another "modern" design. Then I have again to click on the drop down to select the option I need to fill in.

change goes from the known design Ata24041618gqc2_0-1649936210291.png to this new one

Is this a bug of the new version or this is a setting?

Thanks!

Can you tell us your Acrobat version and operating system?  It will help with trying to reproduce the issue on our machines.

Thanks,

Dave

I have the following version running under Window 10:

Also - if you don't want to see that blue/purple field background, you can turn it off in your preferences:

BUT... this controls how you, on your machine, view form fields.  It is not part of the document settings at all.

My best,

Dave

Can you post a link to the file? So we can see if it's occurring on other machines?

I downloaded your file, and I see that your dropdown has no data/choices entered.  Try adding in some entries/choices in the Options tab to see if that changes how it behaves for you.

As Dave pointed out, the field had no data so I had to add some items myself. I'm wondering if you're referring to the behaviour that after choosing an item from the list, you have to click off of the field to get it to commit? Try enabling the "Commit selected value immediately" checkbox at the bottom of the options category in the field properties and see if that behaves more like what you're expecting.

Hello Chad, Dave,

I wanted to give you quick feedback on the issue I had. After the holiday days I wanted to make a Video of the strange behaviour and PDF form with more data in the Dropdown. However it turned out that the issue does not exists anymore. I have checked the Acrobat Version and it is still the same one. I guess the reason for this strange behaviour was somwhere else in this case. If I get the same issue again I will make a quick video and send it here for your information.

Thank you for your quick support!

Regards,

Atanas

I hope the issue is gone for good!  It's not the first time an issue has self-healed with seemingly no explanation.  Fingers crossed that it does not return... but let us know if it does.

My best,

Dave

You'll need to give us some more information. I did a quick test using the latest version of Acrobat DC on Mac and the drop-down menu worked as expected. What OS are you using?

LATEST

I'm having the same issue. I've tried repairing the installation, and uninstalling then reinstalling. I've checked for updates, and have the latest version. The problem persists. I've attached a sample PDF for reference, and verified that it behaves the same as my main document. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy. Thank you in advance.
