PDF form for professional printing?

Explorer ,
Mar 02, 2017 Mar 02, 2017

Hi,

I am looking for a way to provide an advertising via PDF formular that my client can fill out with its own text and send that to a printer or publisher to be produced. Is that possible?

So far I manage to create the layout in the desired way, placing fields that show the right typeface and size. But when it comes to printing it always changes to RGB. Of course the printer needs to have CMYK Euroscale. Is there a way or formulars are safed as RGB in general?

Or is there even a complete different way to give a template for alteration?

I can not find much to that topic …

Carsten

Hi Blindtext,

Please try using Acrobat Pro Preflight tool to adjust the colors and follow the steps below:

  • Open the form
  • Under Print Production, select Preflight and the Profiles tab is selected by default.
  • In the Show all drop down, select Convert Colors> desired CMYK conversion.
  • Click Analyze and Fix button to perform the conversion and Save the PDF.

You may want to convert the form to PDF/X that is used to create press-ready PDF's.

To do so, go to File>Save as Other>Press Ready PDF (PDF/X).

In the "Save As PDF" dialog, click the "settings.." button, select a PDF/X version and color setting>Ok>enter a file name and hit OK.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Supriya

Hi Supriya,

thank you for your quick response.

I tried as you described …

It works very well with a regular PDF. Unfortunately with a form it still shows me RGB when I place it in InDesign.

When I safe it via PDF (PDF/X) it deletes all filled out areas.

So, it did not go well.
