How do I move a pdf in Acrobat Reader to my desktop? I am struggling with this simple task. I only have the free version of acrobat reader.

PDF files don't exist within Reader. If you opened a file it's most likely already on your computer.
You can view its location via File - Properties - Description - Location.
The text there is also a link. If you click it the folder where the file is located will open, and the file will be selected.
