PDF not sending correctly on WhatsApp or WeChat

Hello everyone,

I need your help with a problem I've been facing for the last 4 days. When I try to send a PDF through WhatsApp or WeChat, instead of sending the file, it displays a message asking the recipient to download an application. This is really frustrating, and I have no idea why it's happening.

I have tried sending the PDF from different devices and networks, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this situation or has any idea what might be causing it? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or solutions you can provide.

Please let us know if you are sharing the PDF from the Acrobat Reader application or directly uploading the PDF to Whatsapp or WeChat application. 

It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording of how you are sharing the PDF and how it appears in Whatsapp once you share it. 

Share the Acrobat Reader and OS version details with us.

Hello Meenakshi,

 

Four days ago I was sending all my files normally. Now, when I open any PDF file and try to send it via WhatsApp or WeChat, it shows a message saying that "edit, sign, and share PDF files, and download Acrobat" (like advertisement from acrobat) . The version of Acrobat I have is 23.07.00.

 

I am sharing copy to you in spanish I put "Enviar Copia" like every time i usually do.

I'm having the same issue. I use my Android phone I go up and I open the document saved in my Google Drive folder. From my phone I then click share a copy. And then I select WeChat to share the copy too. This is all through my phone. I used to be able to send PDFs that way and now it just gives me an error that says it cannot find an app to open

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in! 

 

To understand your issue correctly, would you mind clarifying if the steps you mentioned above are done through Acrobat or directly Google Drive?

 

Even if done through Google Drive, and if the file is viewable, then it's the other application that has an issue with supporting the file. I do not see an issue here involving Acrobat.

If you feel that is not the case, please share a screen recording of the entire event for a better understanding and assistance.

 

Also, ensure that the all the apps (Acrobat, Google Drive, WhatsApp and WeChat) are updated to their respective latest versions per your device's App Store.
