PDF's are opening with a single click but everything else requires a double click

something has changed and now the PDF's are opening with a single mouse click. Everything else still requires a double mouse click. Can  someone tell me how to revert back to double clicking to open for the PDF formats please.....

What's the exact version number of the application (You can find it out by going to Help - About Adobe Acrobat)? What's your OS version?
