PDF Viewer Page Label Character Limit

New Here ,

Hi, We have been using PDF and other tools to create documents with Page Labels, all working well.

However we want to use the Page Label field to jump dicrectly to a page by typing in the label, this is fine if there is a simple number involved, but if we add a description prefix e.g. "Section A - 53" Then we can't type in that string as there is a limit in the page label field.

Is there any way of overcoming this limit ? Other viewers, including the Firefox browser viewer do not have a limit in this field.

Someone recently had a similar situation so I developed a free tool that allows you to enter a page label of any length into a pop-up window, and it will take you to that page. You can get it here: https://www.payloadz.com/d1/?id=3379477

Thanks for the reply, the Javascript is a neat way of doing it.

I have however discovered that there is a built in way of doing it - Ctrl + Shift + N (on a PC) That allows the user to enter the full label to search.
