Das ZugFerd-Format für digitale Rechnungen wird in den nächsten Monaten ein zentrales Thema für viele Unternehmen (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZUGFeRD). Warum gibt es hier kein einfaches Speicherformat wie für viele andere Standards der Print-Industrie? Oder wurde das Problem längst gelöst? Warum überläßt man das Thema den vielen unprofessionelleren Drittanbietern? Vielen Dank für ein Feedback.

ZUGFeRD-compliant digital invoices are readily created in Acrobat. They really are nothing more than PDF/A-3b files of a human-readable invoice with an XML-based machine readable attachment of the invoice's details compliant with the ZUGFeRD standard.

Creating the XML-based digital invoice is clearly an enterprise accounting processing function that you really would not expect to be an Adobe product and if one is dealing with creation of many such ZUGFeRD invoices, what you really need is an application interfacing between an organzation's accounting software and a PDF library to create such ZUGFeRD PDF files in an automated, batch manner.

Guten Tag,

warum sich die Firma Adobe den Marketingerfolg entgehen lässt, vielen Kleinunternehmern aus der Patsche zu helfen, obwohl hier vermutlich keine hohen Entwicklungskosten anfallen würden, verstehe ich auch nicht recht.

Bis ich mich dafür entscheide, ob ich wegen einer Handvoll B2B-Rechnungen auf eines der teilweise unfassbar teuren Buchhaltungs- und Rechnungserstellungsprogramme umsteige, habe ich in der Offline-Anwendung der PDF24 Toolbox eine kostenlose Möglichkeit gefunden, ZUGFeRD-Rechnungen zu erstellen.

Dort gibt es ein Tool, in das die Rechnungsdaten eingetragen werden und auch für künftige Rechnungen erhalten bleiben, sofern gewünscht.

Ausgeworfen wird dann ein regelkonformes PDF/A-Dokument, dem die XML-Daten als Anhang integriert sind.

Meinen persönlichen Test, ob Unternehmenskunden, die ausschließlich XML-Rechnungen auslesen, mit der so generierten ZUGFeRD-Rechnung klarkommen, habe ich noch nicht machen können, der erste Eindruck ist aber nicht schlecht.

Vom Nebeneinander mehrerer PDF-Programme bin ich nicht besonders begeistert, aber als Notbehelf, bis sich das Marktumfeld für Anbieter elektronischer Rechnungsformen lichtet, nehme ich das gerne in Anspruch.

Ich hoffe, ich konnte Ihnen und weiteren Nutzern damit dienen.

This is what I need to know: a code snippet Javascript or VBA or Python or the Adobe Library function(s) to use to attach the already created xml-file and to save a standard Pdf-file as Pdf-A3-file

Would be very nice if you could help me.

thank you very much for your fast response. Creating digital invoices like ZUGFeRD invoices are already today a task for small enterprises or even freelancers working for companies with a digital accounting. As licensed user of the best high professional PDF solution Adobe Acrobat I would assume, that this demand is an easy one for Adobe. Especially users who have no accounting software and no need for automated batches want to trust Adobe as provider of interchangeable file that meet the best industry standards.

For my technical understanding: Is a PDF saved in PDF/A-3b format already a ZUGFerd document or does it need another step to integrate XML information? Many thanks for the support.

You do need to create and attach the XML file. Clearly, Adobe isn't in the accounting software business; you would need a separate application to do that. PDF/A-3b files are not ZUGFeRD files, but typically ZUGFeRD files are or should be PDF/A-3b-compliant. You could conceivably write some Javascript to embed the XML files into PDF files and/or use Adobe's (or third party) PDF libraries to create both the textual portion of the PDF file and attach the XML.

Alternatively, as pointed out by Bernd_Alheit above, SAP does provide a ZUGFeRD output option. Other accounting software providers (primarily in Europe I would assume) likely also provide such an option.
