Hi Doris
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat 2017 you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 17.11.30207. Go to Help > Check for updates nad reboot the computer once
Also try to repair the installation form the help menu (Windows Only) and check
You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in windows or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Amal

Hi Doris,
We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists. Please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html and Adobe Procmon logs https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share them with us via Document cloud link as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html so that we can isolate the issue for the fix.

I have similar issue where I am trying to edit the fillable fields using prepare forms. I click on the prepare form button and the pdf closes. The version I am using is 21.011.20039.0 and I have tried troubleshooting by checking for updates and also repair installation. Any other ideas on how to correct this issue.
Thanks
Lois

Hi Lois
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.
As you have already tried updating the repairing the installation of Acrobat DC with no luck. What is the workflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF form? Are you creating the form from scratch or from an existing file.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root accoint in MAC and try using the application there and check.
Also please go through the help pages listed below and see if that works for you:
