We use Adobe PDF Printer to make PDFs for one specific job in our workflow, and currently it takes around 2-5 minutes for my computer to make the PDF as it gets stuck on checking fonts. this problem only occurs on the first PDF I make, any others that are made within 5 minutes of the first one don’t get stuck, but, if I don't make a PDF within those 5 minutes the next time it will get stuck, all the PDFs are made from InDesign but even using the "Print Test Page" from windows I still get the same problem, at this point I have even asked our IT Person and both of us are stuck on what may be the issue, as other sources online suggest turning off the "Use System Fonts" Setting but that hasn’t fixed it for me.

What I've tried:

  • Fully re-installed Adobe Acrobat
  • Fixed Adobe Acrobat Installation
  • Uninstalled and manually re-installed the Print Drivers
  • Turned off " Use System Fonts only" in the Printer Preferences
  • Updating Windows

Things I can't do due to workflow:

  • Use the Export to PDF, these PDFs must be made with the Print PDF
  • Update Adobe Acrobat to Latest Version, we are currently on 32-bit 2023.001.20143, we can’t update as a plug-in we use is not compatible with newer versions

I may be forgetting to include other information so ask if you need more, but any suggestion or support would be very handy.

Hi @Gannon29814328ktot

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please let me know some details:

  • Is the issue started happening recntly for you or since long?
  • If there is any antivirus or antimalwars in the system can ou try after disabling that to rule out any conflict.
  • Please share a testfile if possible.
  • Please share Adobe Acrobat diagnostics logs to me. https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html

Thanks,
