Printing specific pages from a PDF

New Here ,
Mar 09, 2020 Mar 09, 2020

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

I have a 40 page document as a pdf where the page numbering starts at 1 on page 5.  If I want to print the ACTUAL page 5 (labeled as 1), I put '1' and the cover prints. So I put '5' and the 9th page (labeled as 5) prints.  How do I print ACTUAL page 5?

What are the page labels on the real pages 1-4?

Try setting the page labels on these pages to something like i, ii, etc.

Real pages 1-4 are the cover, inside cover, title page and contents  - hence no numbers.  I will try and add numbers and hide them and see if that helps.

I did some testing and on my Acrobat DC it prints according to the page label.  I would suggest navigating to the page you want to print, hit Ctrl-P. Then on the page range select "Current", the value that displays in the page box on the right is the value that should work when entered for the page range.

It's possible you need to force the pages to all be labeled.

No, the pages do not need have labels to first select them and then "Print Selected" from the Print menu.

So...good idea thanks.  I gave it a go.

If I hit 'current page' on real page 1 it says "1".

If I hit 'current page' on real page 5 it says "1".

Argh!

LATEST

When you create page labels for the first four pages, change the format to Roman Number (i, ii, iii, iv). The next page should be Arabic "1".

Did you try printing the selected pages as I explained earlier?

Hi

  • One way is to add page labels in Organize Pages or the Pages panel for the Roman numeral pages.
  • The second way is to select the pages first in the Pages panel. Use Shift if they are contiguous, or Command (Mac) if the are not (Control for Windows). Go to File > Print (Cmd+P) and Acrobat will preselected "Selected Pages" for you in the Print dialog and print only the selected pages.
