Problems with Export to PDF

When I want to create a PDF of a webpage, I'll use the File ->Export to PDF option (Adobe Acrobat Pro DC). Most of the time it works, however, sometimes I get a very strange result. Below is an example showing that it's created a one page PDF for the entire article (see the thumbnail view). It should be a 8-9 page document. Instead, it's a one page document that's 5"x90". Since I can't insert page breaks into a PDF, that's not a solution. Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it (or how to avoid it)?

Hi there,

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, you are experiencing issues while creating the PDF out of a web page.

Would you mind sharing a video recording of the steps that you are doing to create the PDF from web page as we dont have the option to export to PDF from the file menu.

Please try to create the PDF from the file menu as described below and see if that helps.
Go to File > Create > PDF from Web Page

For more information about creating the PDF form the Web Page please refer to the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/converting-web-pages-pdf.html

Also, make sure you have the latest version (20.12.20043) of the Adobe Acrobat DC installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Let us know how it goes

Thanks for responding Amal. I'm using Safari on a Mac: File menu -> Export as PDF (see screenshot). Then save it and open it. That's it.

After looking at the information on the page you recommended, it might be Safari related. I would have to install Firefox and try it there to check if it's a different result. The webpage in the example is https://www.ganoksin.com/article/single-file/ if you want to try it in Safari or Firefox.

Just FYI, I went to the help article you mentioned and clicked where it said "See the video: Creating PDF Files from a Web Browser", but it goes to the Adobe Help Center home page (no video, no info about this topic). Hopefully someone can fix that link because it might be helpful!

Thanks!

Hi Amal,

I tried "Create PDF from Webpage" as you suggested. The result was different from the Export to PDF option, but not quite as it should be.

I decided to try a different approach. In Safari, I chose the Reader View of the webpage, then tried "Export to PDF" and it worked.

In Firefox, I didn't see an "Export to PDF" option, but I went to Reader View, Print, then Save to PDF and it worked even better (better formatting).

So I think using Reader View in the browser before either exporting to PDF or converting to PDF is the answer for now.

Thanks!
