Protected mode bug when extracting multiple files

Running Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2022 001.20169. We have users who create portfolios of emails in pdf format with the email subject line as the filename. We have protected mode enabled. After clicking "Enable all features," we are able to select a file in the portfolio, right click and select "extract from portfolio." The problem comes when we select all and then extract. Some of the filenames are the same since the email subject lines are the same, and when I extract multiple I get prompted "do you want to overwrite or keep both files," it causes the extraction to stop with an "Access Denied" message. When I go into the registry and disable enhanced protection mode, this problem goes away. Problem is I don't want to disable protected mode for my users. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Or is this a bug in the program? Thanks!

I have seen this behavior as well, and like default4ta3yiix3rjv in Re: When I extract PDFs from a portfolio in bulk n... - Adobe Support Community - 11855288, I am finding that if there are multiple messages with the same Subject but with different-case lettering, such as Re: Records vs RE: Records, this is where it breaks down.
