I'm getting the message: "Adobe Acrobat cannot be opened because of a problem" when attempting to open Acrobat DC

also: 

Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Acrobat works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS.

I uninstalled / reinstalled Acrobat and all is well now.
