Why is this happening in Safari 11 (since the upgrade)? How can I get rid of this annoying plug-in pop-up (frequently occurs)?

Thanks

Hi all,

Please note that we have released a patch today that should mitigate the repeated pop-up issue for most configurations. However, there are a few leftover cases for which we are actively working with Apple to address them.

This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

More information about this release is here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/acrobat-dc-november-29-2017.html

When will Adobe take this very annoying issue seriously.  It is amazing that you flag it as fixed when it clearly is not.

Just another example of Adobe's failures. If as Lymper suggested on 2 Nov it comes when a site using Flash is encountered it is just another part of Adobe's failure to kill what has been a terrible piece of software for the entire internet community.

I am pleased you are taking this issue seriously and are now working on a fix, hopefully one which does not involve disabling or bypassing the normal security provided by Apple in its Safari browser.

It is disturbing to see screen shots with messages such as "Adobe Reader does not support the highest level of security for Safari plug-ins. Websites using this plug-in may be able to access your personal documents and data"

I note your request that we help you in validating a "private fix". Regrettably I feel unable to do this, as I am not prepared to expose my system to "beta" Adobe software. Others who have contributed to this discussion may be prepared to do so, and I trust that this will be helpful to you.

I look forward to your letting your users know when a robust fix is available.

That's *really* annoying. I tried all these stuff. Nothing worked yet. Not even the special tips by the adobe team posted online.

Please post an upgrade for Acrobat that correct it. I am thinking to deploy Adobe Acrobat in my SMB, but I am very skeptical with this kind of bugs. I cannot afford a rebellion by my employees who are asked ten times a day a password.

My two cents: I have found viable and worthy replacements for EVERY Adobe application except InDesign. That single factor is the ONLY reason I am still a Creative Cloud subscriber. This current issue and the inability to get it addressed, acknowledged or fixed is simply feeding into mine, (and others), growing frustration with Adobe. The second that a viable replacement for InDesign emerges I will be terminating my Creative Clous account.

I found that a combination of PDF Expert by Readdle and/or Foxit get the job done. In some instances I will open the PDF in Affinity Photo or Designer

And, quite honestly, Acrobat is a cumbersome, clunky, crash-prone, non-use-friendly piece of software that I try my hardest to avoid using if I can.

I went in yesterday and did the manual removal and re-add of com.apple.webkit.Plugin.64.xpc (it was actually very strange, even though I had that one selected, when I clicked the "-" button to remove it, it would remove the item at the bottom of the list, so two or three other items were removed from the list before I could remove that one). I'm still getting the pop up. This plus all the crashes/slow performance I've been experiencing with Lightroom Classic CC... Might be time to start looking at other software options.

I also have the same problem. Also tried some of the "fixes" and keep getting the promp. It's been 2 months since the launch of macOS High Sierra (not accounting for the betas) and I find it amazing that Adobe hasn't fixed this and that one of the "solutions" is to reduce your security by disabling the automatic keychain lock.

Happens to me too after purchasing Acrobat Pro DC and installing it yesterday.

I just keep hitting Deny.  I also didn't appreciate that add on in my menu bar.

I'll give it a week before uninstalling, and reversing the charge on my credit card for a shoddy product.

Lots of PDF software solutions out there.  I assumed Adobe's would be the best (they sure charge the biggest premium for it).  These two strikes right out the gate have me questioning it now.

Received the patch.  Installed it without doing any of the earlier mentioned workarounds (i've just been hitting deny for now).

So far, so good.  I'll circle back here if it pops up again.

Thanks.
