The "Find" feature is not working for some of my PDF files. I can set "Whole Words Only" and "Case Sensitive" (or neither) and the Advanced Search list will show results with seemingly random search items and often times different letters than what I have inputted to the "Find" bar.
What could cause this to work so improperly?
Note: I am running Adobe Acrobat DC Version 2015.006.30306.
I have run the "Repair Installation" to no avail. Please advise.

How did you create the PDF files?

Can you give some examples for what you are searching for, and what is actually found? Does the same thing happen when you use the "normal" find (without the advanced features)? What happens when you select text that is found, plus some before and some after, and then copy and paste it into e.g. a Word document? Do you get the same content that you have in your PDF file, or does it give you the information you searched for? I suspect that there is something wrong with the character encoding, the copy&paste test would either confirm this, or rule it out.

Since jp25182936 has not responded, I will despite the age of the post. I am currently searching for the words "combination switch" - sans quotation marks. The first thing Acrobat found was the seven instances of the word "cover." It would be hilarious if it wasn't slowing down my work flow. This happens intermittently. It's as if somebody put in some weird heuristic routine in a simple find command. The idea might have looked good on paper, but here in the real world. . . .
