Hello everyone,
need "a little" help :-).
How can you set an option (radio) button so that it is marked when clicked and is marked when clicked on again?
Any help is welcome
Thx
Nikolaos.

Hi,
I am a little confused, as a radio button stays on, unless another radio button in the group is ticked, so do you mean it is not being selected again?
If you could share or post a file that shows the problem we may be able to help properly.
Regards
Malcolm

Hello Malcolm,
Thank you in advance for your quick reply as well as time and effort to deal with my topic.
unfortunately my english is not the best.
If i click the first time on the option button it should be checked.
If i click on the second time on option button, that must go in the initial state (empty state).
How i can solve this?
Please consider not only my english is poor but also my knowledge. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2015.
First click Second click Third click Fourth click ...etc.
I hope I could make it a bit more understandable 🙂
Thx
Nikolaos.

Hi,
If that is the functionality you are looking for, you should probably use a checkbox instead of a radio button? as they do that by default, no coding required.

Hi,
thanks for the hint, but this is not an option for my project.
Would like to do it in option button.
Just don't know if and how this can be possible 🙂
Thanks for your time and suggestion

Hi,
My first question would be why is it not possible?
To know if it is can be coded, I would need to see the form, it should be doable, but how would be determined by the form.
Can you share or post it?
Regards
Malcolm

Hi
i can not post the pdf, i try to build a simple pdf and a simple options button (or more in a normal pdf doc.).
If there is a way, one could send me the step-by-step instructions to do it.
Maybe it works with JavaScript, I don't know...that's why I ask 🙂

This is exactly the behaviour of a check-box. There's no sense in trying to make a radio-button into a check-box when you can use the latter directly. And you can set it to have a circle as its "on" mark, if that's what's bothering you.

Hi,
It makes sense to me. I would like to use the shape and extension of the option button for my project.
There is no other way to get such a button layout.
So if there is a possibility, I would like to learn it.
If not good, then there is no need to discuss the meaning.
Thanks for your time and effort

As far as I know, it's not possible to do that with a radio-button field.

You can use buttons with images, and show/hide the buttons.

Hello,
sounds very interesting, could you tell me more about it? ... resp. explain the steps.
For a beginner like me, the steps 🙂
Thank you
Nikolaos

Thank you all for your help and for the effort and time you have invested in my cause.
Will try to solve it otherwise.
Would like the layout of the radio button, but create the behavior of a check box in the button.
That probably won't work.
However, you have to rethink to get such a result.
Thanks again everyone.

Now the light sparked with me.
Now I see / I understand your proposed solution.
Sry but sometimes it takes longer for me 🙂
Thanks again for your patience with me and time

Note that buttons don't have values, so you won't be able to use it in any calculations, or export/import it, etc.
Just use a check-box.

InDesign let you create nice multistates buttons effects, but beware: edit them with Acrobat Pro irreversibly destroy them.
