Did you find a fix for this by chance? My player controls won't show even after I select to show all controls.

Which application and version was used to create the original document?

Which version of Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro are you using to view the PDF?

NOTE:  Flash Player is end of life and no longer supported.  For best results, do not use embedded Flash for video.

I added the MP4 video into my document in InDesign 2021 (updated today). Exported as an Interactive PDF, then in Acrobat Pro DC, used the media toolbar to show "all controls". It doesn't.

Acrobat Pro > Tools > Rich Media > right-click for Player skin options.  Pick one and exit Rich Media.

This video walks you through the process from InDesign through Acrobat Pro.

If it's TL;DR, FFWD to 5:20.

Hope that helps.

Hi Nancy,
unfortunately, the video you posted in May 2021 seems to be outdated - the player skin options only have two options by now: "All control elements" or "None".
In both cases, the options for "color", "opacity" and "hide control elements automatically" are greyed out (not cllickable). How can I add video control elements to a video in the latest Acrobat version? Please help!

Best,
Nina

P.S.: Please excuse if I didn't translate the Acrobat terms correctly - I use the German version of Acrobat DC, that's why I can also only provide a German screenshot. I would be very happy if you could still help.

You are correct.  Player control options are limited to ALL or NONE now.

I filed a bug/feedback report in Acrobat UserVoice.  You can add your vote below.

Thanks for filing this in the Acrobat UserVoice! Will vote for it immediately.

It wouldn't be much of a problem to have "All" or "None" as player control options if "All" worked well. But whether I choose "All" or "None" - the result is the same and there are no player control options at all.
What am I doing wrong?

I agree it does NOT work well with "All."  That's why I filed the bug report.

There is a small play arrow in the left hand corner to invoke the video. That seems to be all there is currently.

To turn it off, user must right-click and select "disable" which is terrible for usability.

Hi,

I'm still having the same issue. There are only ALL and NONE options shown in the dropdown menu.

And even if I clicked "ALL" , nothing comes out.

How do I fix this?

Hi Nancy,

Has this issue been resolved yet? I've been trying to embed video and I still can't enable the controls!

Flash Player has been EOL (end of life) since December.

The good news is that all web devices support MP3 audio files. See link below for details.
