Unable to use Adobe Acrobat anymore

I opted for a free trial for Adobe Acrobat DC, already having Adobe Reader on my laptop. The installer doesn't work and the app doesn't show up on my Mac laptop. I did manage to convert a Word document to a PDF, but I don't know why the app doesn't show up. The installer says double click, which I've done a million times. I don't have any security issues, it's open to new apps. I will soon cancel my free trial. this is very frustrating. I've taken ALL the advice on the website, nothing works

I see that you have purchased Acrobat DC trial. Could you please try uninstalling both Reader and Acrobat DC and then try installing again?

and after properly uninstalling both, only install acrobat pro.  then test.

Thank you, but I can't uninstall Acrobat DC because it never downloaded. As I stated, the installer does not function. I click on it and it goes nowhere.

No, I haven't, because without the installer I'm concerned I won't get it back. Why would the installer not be working? Internet is fine, no security issues. Thank you for your interest in this...

acrobat and reader were not intended to be used on the same computer.  reader has no capability beyond acrobat's while the converse is untrue.

Most people only have one computer. If I remove Reader, will the download of Acrobat work?

i don't know for sure. eg, you could have security apps causing a problem or a vpn or firewall or something else.

then you should have no problems uninstalling reader.

Try using Adobe's Cleaning Tool.  AcroCleaner — Acrobat Desktop Tools and Utilities

Then reinstall Acrobat Download Acrobat
