Its actually been redacted by a colleague telling me its secure. I dont know how it was redacted but i dont believe it is secure which is why i would like someone to tell me what is under the "redaction" box so i can prove it isnt secure.

It was not done with Adobe Acrobat, or at least I do not see that, because it only has one box on top, Adobe's cencura options erase the content of all its layers.
When returning an image, rasterized the content, it may be an option, but I do not think that a practice of the digital document, reviews Acrobat's options.
Countless people think they find ways to redact using tools not made for the job, and without the inside knowledge of PDFs which is needed as a basic starting point. This is no job for amateurs. There's much faith in the magic powers of black boxes, reprinting to PDF and so forth. There's certainly no understanding of forensics, metadata, font internals, or statistical reconstuction.
I get that and i agreee with you however I would like to be able to prove to the person that "redacted" the document that it isnt redacted. Without that proof i wont get them to change the method i dont believe.
Asking some people on an online forum to look into it for you is not "proof" of anything. There are forensic document specialists who charge large sums of money for this kind of work, and if you don't do it correctly they could probably retrieve the information from your document, even if we can't.
That good articles, this is how I say it would not be a good practice, and for them we have tools like Acrobat and they are great, in addition to easy to use, thanks for that message.
There are many applications that open, view, print and allow PDF editing. I get asked all the time my thoughts on some of them, This thread is exactly why I always 'preach' to use the ADOBE product.
