Removing floating edit bar in Acrobat Pro

When in the Edit PDF mode, a black floating edit bar often appears and gets very much in the way of editing page elements. How can one get rid of this nuisance?

Menu - Preferences - General - tick off "Show quick actions on text selection".

I'm on a mac, Acrobat Pro continuous release 2024.004.20272

This suggestion did not work. Are there any other work-arounds that you know of? I've tried other ideas on this forum that were checked "correct answer" as well. 

If I have to go back to a previous version I cannot figure out how to do it from the suggestions on the forum. Do you know of a link that gives instructions?

Wow, nevermind. I found the option.

It was view- disable new acrobat. I did not see it.
