Right-click "combine files in Acrobat" file limit in Windows 11 environment?

Community Beginner ,

I do not recall this being an issue before updating to Windows 11, but now when myself and other team members in our organization tries to combine more than 16 files using the right-click context menu and choosing "Combine files in Acrobat...," Acrobat only brings up the first 16 files and then ignores the rest. The function still works if we ask Acrobat to combine the files from within the program; the behvavior seems limited to the context menu option within File Explorer. Is there a setting or something that can eliminate this bottleneck?

I had this problem too. You should probably have two options under "Show more options" for "Combine files in Acrobat". One of the two options works fine.

Hi artistic_help16B8,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble.

There is still no file limit set for using that feature. Please let us know if this happens when combining files from a particular location on the machine. Do you experience this issue on the work machine?

Please share the details of the Acrobat and OS versions on the machine. Also, please collect logs using the diagnostic tools and share the log ID so we can check them.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

This happens regardless of location and multiple users in our organization have had the same problem. I'm not sure what you mean by experiencing this issue on the "work machine," but it doesn't matter if the files are on a local or networked drive.  I ran the logs: 16a7f465-6fec-4404-9f24-b7f1c27be632. This was started when I did the combine files option in File Explorer and stopped when only 16 of 18 files (in the example) were actually brought into Acrobat to be combined.

Same for me - was fine until we upgraded to Windows 11 last week. Is there a fix?

So far, nope. Hopefully, they'll fix this at some point. Meanwhile, if you have more than 16 files, you have to go into Acrobat and have it create your combined PDF from within the program.

That works! So the "Combine" option when you first right click is broken, but you're right, in the "Show more options" list, you can use the "Combine files in Acrobat" there and it works. Thanks!
