Select text as an object

Hi there,

Just upgraded from Acrobat Pro 9 to 2017 and have a question. In Acrobat 9, I could use the select object tool to select blocks of text.  If I held down the control key I could select part of the block of text.  I can't figure out how to do that in Acrobat Pro 2017 and was wondering if it was possible?   If I use the text editing tool, I can select the entire block of text but not a piece of that block as I could previously.  thx!

I can only select the entire block of text not a particular section of the block.  I just needed to delete a phrase in the middle of the block.  When I tried to edit the text by deleting that phrase the entire block of text moved to the left and down and became unreadable.  Perhaps just an issue with that particular pdf?  In Acrobat 9 if this happened, I'd utilize the object tool to manipulate the text.  As that didn't work,  I ended up exporting the pdf it into Word, changing the text, deleting the original text from the pdf and copying and pasting the revised version into the form.  So got there in the end but just trying to adjust to a different set of tools.  Thanks for the help.

Hello Bb,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Please use the "Selection Tool for text and images"  highlight the text you want to move/delete and delete it.

Try it with a different PDF and see if the issue is reproducible? If it is specific to one PDF file, Is it possible to share the PDF file with us?

To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message

Also, check for any pending updates of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the updates and see if this brings any difference.

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
