I have been sent a link to open a shared pdf. When I click on the link it takes me to Acrobat online and views the pdf in my web browser. When I click on the 'open in desktop app' it opens my installed version of Acrobat Pro (64 bit, on Windows 11 Pro) but a dialogue box comes up saying: "You do not have access to this feature. Please contact your IT admin for more details."
As I am my own IT admin I am at a loss! And don't know what is causing this. I need to download the pdf to my desktop so I have my own version to work from.
1. How do I solve this?
2. Is there another way to download a pdf to desktop from my browser other than hitting the 'open in desktop app' button?
Thanks.

Hi @Duncan5D2C
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.03.20244 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to download the PDF file to your computer locally and try to open it with Acrobat/Reader DC application and check .
Let us know if you experience any trouble and need more help.
Regards
Amal

Thank you - I must be going blind because I was looking everywhere for a simple download button and couldn't see one. Many thanks.
