Signature doesn't cover whole document

Hello,

I have a file that is signed with Adobe version 2018.011.20063. When I try to verify the signature with iText from Java it returns this error:

`Signature doesn't cover the whole document`. Is there a problem with this version of Adobe?

Does Acrobat (there is no product called “Adobe”) validate the document?

Sorry about "Adobe", typing error. Yes, Acrobat validates the document.

Then you need to contact the iText support about this issue.

Ok. One last thing, after the signature is applied the last section of metadata is copied and placed at the end of the document. When I check the signature properties at Rev. 1 it says that "Document has not been modified since this signature was applied."

Metadata is considered to be external to the PDF.

No it's not, it's an integral part of it, and once the file is signed it can't be edited.

For the purposes of "Doc Mod Analysis" (part of signature validation), metadata is considered to be external to the PDF, and not checked for changes.
