Hello, I'm actually creating a PDF file for work, and I happen to have different symbols for bookmarks.
I'm wondering what they mean.
The symbol 01 was created by simply clicking the "add bookmark" button.
The symbol 02 was created when I merged different files together to create this final PDF file with a bookmark for each file.
I guess these bookmarks are linked to a place in the document and not a different PDF (meaning if I send just this PDF file to someone, he will see everything.)
So, why these 2 different representations of the same thing?
Thanks !

That's all they mean. One type is created when you merge files, the other is when you add bookmarks in any other way.
If it bothers you I created a free tool that will convert all bookmarks to the "regular" type. You can find it here:

Ok, thanks for your confirmation 🙂
No, this has no importance at all, it can even be better in my case as the main chapters will have a different symbol than the sub chapters 😄

The jar file is an executable by itself. If you have Java installed then just double-click it and it should run.
