Some PDF attachments do not open in Mac mail

New Here ,
Jan 23, 2020 Jan 23, 2020

Not all but many PDF attachments are not opening when I click on them. The error message I get is -

Adobe Acrobat DC could not open 'Inv_11052_XXXX International_Pty_Ltd.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then choose Save as Adobe PDF from the PDF dropdown in the Print dialog.

I can see the information of the pdf on my phone mail but not my macbook pro mail. The pdf's I cannot open are mainly invoices sent to me by various organisations. I have worked around this by forwarding the email to myself from the phone and then it opens on the macbook mail. Any suggestions to fix the macbook pro issue?

Hi Anitar

We are sorry for the trouble. As you are getting the error: Adobe Acrobat DC could not open '[filename].pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged

You may please refer to a similar discussion here (https://community.adobe.com/t5/document-cloud-pdf-services/cannot-open-pdf-file-says-not-supported-o...) and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal
