Stop Acrobat from hijacking default pdf handler

Is there a way to stop Acrobat from hijacking pdf handler? 

In general I prefer to use the browser pdf handler. However, in some cases I need the full featureset of Acrobat. 

The problem is that every single time I "open with" Acrobat, it is hijacking the association.

"Tell me if Admobe Acrobat is not my default.." is unchecked and ofcourse not clicking the "Select as default PDF handler" button.

You can use this help page: https://adobe.ly/4404U7k to undo the changes. The file association is being handled by the OS you have the option to choose an app.
