Subtracting times

New Here ,
Nov 01, 2017 Nov 01, 2017

Hello good people I am attempting to convert a test sheet into a PDF form using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and have run into instantaneous difficulty.

I am brand new to using this software, having previously used excel for this type of task.

I am attempting to subtract times from one another and cannot for the life of me work out how to do this.

e.g. the beginning (Startdrain) and end (Enddrain) would be manually inputted by the test technician in MM:ss custom format. I would like the third box to calculate the difference between the two automatically.

Is there a simple way to achieve this?

Simple, not really, but possible, yes. It requires using a custom-made script.

Date and time calculations in JavaScript are tricky. Read these tutorials for more information about the subject:

If you're interested, I've developed a tool that allows you to set up such calculations very easily and without having to write any code. You  just select the fields, enter the time format and the tools does the rest for you. You can find it here: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Calculate Time Differences in a Worksheet
