I got a new laptop and when I use acrobat to edit a PDF its making text boxes for every line of text, whereas on my other laptop and also all my other collagues it has it in large text boxes. Please see the pictures. I want it to be like the first image and not the 2nd image which is what I currently have!

These boxes don't really exist in the file. Acrobat generates them ad-hoc whenever you try and edit the static contents, so it's very possible it will work differently in different versions of the application, as the algorithm behind it keeps changing. There's really nothing you can do about it, I'm afraid.

If you have the original file used to create the PDF you should edit that file, and then create a new PDF file from it. Alternatively, export the PDF to an editable format, like Word or InDesign.
