Text comment with border

New Here ,
Nov 27, 2024 Nov 27, 2024

I thought I would eventually get used to the new Adobe, but I still dislike it. Unfortunately, I use it every day for my work, and so I cannot get around not using it.

In the old version, I could set my preferences for the option to add text comment with a border. I always had this set to "no fill color" and my text color was Red.

I can still change this option; it doesn't hold for all future PDFs.

Even when I click on "lock" or "make properties default", as soon as I close Adobe and bring up a new PDF, the preferences goes back to a default, which is a filled text box and green font

assuming acrobat..

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thank you. I thought I was posting there, but I guess I wasn't.

I did search the community but didn't find any solution to hold my preferences.

Unfortunately, a script can't fix the bugs in the new Acrobat UI. It can only do so after the fact, by changing the comments you already created.

(Of course, you will have to run the script each time to edit new comments that were added after it last ran. There is a way to do that automatically, but it's very complex and requires a much more advanced tool)

Try to revert to the Classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-in...
Consider the "new Acrobat" as a beta version, many features are still missing or half-implemented.
