The latest release of Adobe Acrobat (v2021.007.20091) on macOS appears to have changed the behavior

Hi,

The latest release of Adobe Acrobat (v2021.007.20091) on macOS appears to have changed the behavior of the PitStop Pro tools.

When selecting an object or text using a PitStop Pro tool, the active item(s) do not appear to be selected with visible handles, frames, lines, etc.

Is it possible to roll back version of creative cloud apps as this is having an impact on users?

or is there going to be an update for acrobat?

Hi everyone,

We had a dicussion with EnFocus team and this issue has to be fixed by Enfocus team. It will be avaiable with future updates of Enfocus Plugin.

Thanks,

Moving this to Acrobat forum.

What does Enfocus say about the problem?

Recieved an email from Enfocus that says this:

"Unfortunately, the Mac version of this update introduced a problem for PitStop Pro: when you select an object(s) in PitStop Pro, the selected objects and anchor points are not displayed. There is no workaround for this issue, so we would like to advise PitStop users on a Mac not to update Acrobat at this time. Windows users are not affected.

We have reported the issue to Adobe, and are in discussion with their engineers on how to resolve the issue. Please be assured that we will resolve this issue as soon as possible. When there is a fix, we will let you know via email."

They are not passing the buck but saying that there is no immediate fix. We also need a way to rollback ASAP but I have not found a way to download a previous installer.

We were able to grab an older version from an unused Mac that did not have auto updates checked to get by for now.

Yes, we are having this issue and we need to roll back.  "previous versions" is not available under the "more actions" menu for Acrobat.

We need a way to roll back asap..

So basically a plug in that has worked for several versions without issue does not work with the latest build of Acrobat? The paranoid in me says Adobe changed something intentionally to cause an issue with Pitstop, which is enhanced by Adobe saying Enfocus has to fix the issue that did not exist prior to the latest update. It is also disappointing that Adobe has no method for rolling back Acrobat to an older version (like most other CC apps), which again falls on their shoulders. This is the type of support that knocked Quark out of the top spot years ago.

For those still stuck, use TimeMachine to restore an older version of the Acrobat app folder. You are using Time Machine right?

LATEST

Enfocus have now released an update to support the changes made in the latest version of Adobe Acrobat.

This is a free upgrade of PitStop 2021. Users of older PitStop versions will need to upgrade to PitStop 2021.
