trouble installing continuous update acrobat dc from August 8

I've had no problems in the past. I tend to keep up with updates by direct download rather than through the CC Updater. This time, it is not working: install error every time.

Should I just wait for a future update and cross my fingers?

thanks.

Hi James,

You may try installing the latest patch through- Acrobat Help | Release notes | Acrobat DC and 2017, Acrobat Reader DC and 2017 | Update

And if it still doesn't work and you get error message 1636 during update, then you may try uninstalling the application completely using the cleaner tool (if its windows) Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and for Mac you need to uninstall manually from applications.

Regards,

Akanchha

Just tried logging in as root, then tried to update from the site, and same error as above (the first shown).

Current version: 20056. Updater in app offers 20096 (produces 1636 error); site shows 20093 update (strangely lower than updater in app under Help menu).

I uninstalled using the uninstaller; downloaded a demo from the web. It seems to have registered as part of CC suite apps, but is a very old (2015) version (v.

And I cannot update this copy either.

Getting a 301 error.

This is ridiculous.
