Hi all,
So I have a weird situation.
I am trying to print from adobe, but when I try to print I get the error:
Could not create PDF from:
/var/folders/wh/gz9d71nj37ncrv1_sfgpv5140000gp/T/PSaJl80A.tmp
Using Adobe PDF Settings: High Quality Print
see the log file for details.
First off I am not sure where the log file is.
When I print the same file on my partners macbook, to the same printer there is no issue.
So i guessing there is somehthing funky going on with my setup.
I tried uninstalling CC, and re-installing, but to no avail.
So any help in diagnosing this would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Would you mind sharing the steps you are doing to print the PDF file? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.
What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20687 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Please check for any pending/missing updates for printer driver and firmware and try to remove the printer driver from your computer, reboot, and reinstall it from the manufacturers website and see if that works.
Please go through the help page: https://adobe.ly/4aRRkDJ and check
Try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3xFqnVx and check
Let us know how it goes.

I am experiencing the exact same issue as Ulrich366215660pyy reported with only slightly different characters in the name of the tmp file. It occurs with every PDF file. If I open a PDF file with Acrobat Pro, it comes up on screen just fine and all in-app funcitons are normal. Go to print, using either file menu, print option, or clicking on the print icon in the top toolbar of the app results in the same problem. Error appears in a box stating "Cannot create PDF from: /var/folders/t9/0kdzsp7x5ldgjxmjEdT.tmp Using Adobe PDF settings: High Quaoity Print see the log files for details" I have no idea where the log files are, or where the tmp files are on the computer. This also happens when viewing a PDF file through a brewser interface, like logging in to a bank account, selecting statements, and displaying a PDF of your account statement and trying to print it. It also happens if you download the PDF file instead of viewing it. It happens if you do a "save as" to a file location on the computer, then open that file and try to print. It happens after a reboot of the computer (MacBook Pro M4 running latest O/S Sequoia 15.2). It happens no matter if the latest printer driver is being used. Basically, it happens with every PDF file no matter what. This happens with all PDF files that have many times before printed just fine on the same computer. Error box looks like this:
Click on OK, and you gert this:
Go to help center, and there is nothing there that helps at all. Since I am not running resident Acrobat, (I am a subscriber), I have checked and verified that indeed, I am on the very latest version of Acrpobat that is available. Please help resolve this issue. It is a serious inconvenience to be unable to print any PDF file either I create, or that is created anywhere else.

Thanks for the pointer. As it turns out, my problem seems to have gone away after a number of other actions, leaving me to say it disappeared automagically. So...power cycling my machine, intalling an O/S update that became available after my problem had shown up, deleting some files, resetting various app preferences, dropping and reinstalling the printer on the network, etc. may or may not have had an effect on the issue. Wish I had logged every acton I took, and tested after each one, while waiting to hear if anyone else had solved the problem, but.....alas...I didn't.

Hi everyone, I try to reset it as sugested but i could not find the "com.adobe.acrobat.pro.plist" file on my Mac.
leveriging up my frustration, I play around with the Acrobat Distiller that came up whem I try to print. there I changed the default setting to High Quality Print and voila! its fixed.
Adobe, please have one of your product manager look into this, is frustrating and i should not have to be dealing with this. two softwares installed and I am the one who has to solve the problem.

I am now re-experiencing this problem after having thought I somehow had fixed it. It is now intermittent. Yeah...a debugger/troubleshooter's nightmare. I use the full Acxrobat app (not Reader) to view and print documents. A lot of things come to me via internet in PDF form - bank and credit card statements, invoices, receipts, etc. - and I have need to print them often. Most frequently, opening the document with Acrobat and trying to print, results in the error messages. This is true in either case of viewing the PDF, then trying to print it, or downloading it to a file location in my computer's memory, and trying to print it from there. Sometimes, the print button in the upper right corner of the display page will work. Sometimes not.
I agree this needs to be investigagted by an Acrobat product manager and/quality engineer. We should be able to print in any mode that is supported within the app, not have to constantly tweak or change settings, hunting for a magic combination that allows printing that day. I have automatic updates installed for both my MacBook software and take every release of Acrobat via my subscription, so this is not an issue of running out date software on either the app or the computer. Fortunately, I am not on Windows, so the omnipresent printer driver issues that exist there do not exist in the Mac enviromnment. As a result of not having a total solution for this problem, I still have to go to a workaround of taking screenshots saved to jpeg files, and printing them. A total PITA and not appreciated when using such a sophisticated and premium app as Acrobat.

Hello,
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.
Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20428 Planned update, Mar 04, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/4iDhz4y.
If the issue still persists with the latest update, please collect the logs from the affected machine, and share them with us for further investigation. For references, you can see this article and try the suggestions: https://adobe.ly/4icwzGQ

I have the same issue, but I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, the non-subscription one time payment option. If I update, it essentially deletes the program I paid for and requires a subscription which defeats the purpose of this investment. Since I am using a macbook, the options look different and also do not match tutorials. For instance, I do not see an option to switch to high quality print under any of the settings (ie properties, advanced printer settings, etc). Additionally, the printer has the latest drives and the macbook is updated to the latest update. Lastly, I have moved the recommended files in order to adobe to create new ones, but it is also not changing anything.

Hello @ashley_1218!
I hope you're doing well. We apologize for the delayed response and the trouble. You're Using the Perpetual Version—There's No Need to Switch to a Subscription. Rest assured, updating the app should not convert it into a subscription model if you're using Acrobat Pro 2020. However, avoid updating through the Creative Cloud desktop app, as it may prompt for subscription login. Instead, check for updates via: Acrobat > Help > Check for Updates (within Acrobat Pro 2020).
Unlike Windows, macOS uses the system Print dialog, not the Adobe-specific one. Here's how to apply print quality settings:
Go to File > Print in Acrobat.
In the Print dialog, click the drop-down arrow next to the printer name and choose "Printer...".
In the macOS print dialog:
Click on the drop-down menu (usually shows "Layout") and choose "Print Settings" or "Quality & Media" depending on the printer driver.
Look for quality options such as High, Best, or similar under that menu.
Click Save as Preset if you want to reuse the settings later.
Note: Some options may be hidden unless "Show Details" is selected in the print dialog.
Ensure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat 2020 20.005.30763 installed. The planned update is for March 11, 2025.
Try printing a different PDF file (preferably a simple one).
If available, test on a different printer. This helps rule out file-specific or printer-specific issues.
If the issue still persists with the latest update, please collect the logs from the affected machine and share them with us for further investigation. Please share the current version of the OS, the make and model of the printer and the driver details.
Download the log collector tool, run it, ensure all the log options are selected, try to reproduce the issue. Then close the log collector tool, and save the logs. It will generate a log it, please share it with us.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.
