Unable launch Adobe Reader DC

For unknown reason beginning 1/11/22, unable launch Adobe Reader DC.  It gives System Error, "The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."  I reinstalled the program but still get the same message.

Thank you for reaching out and sorry about the trouble.

The error seems to be the Windows error. Please check if there is any pending update for Windows.

Also, try running the cleaner tool on the machine after uninstalling the application. Reboot the machine and reinstall the application from this page: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/.
