Unable to do OCR on a PDF created by printing an email

Sometimes when I print to make a PDF, I'm unable to then use the OCR function because the curson begins too big (see attached example).  Any advice, friends?

There is something wrong with how you are performing the OCR. Your Content Panel is showing a lot of mixed up characters. You really should SAVE to PDF. File > Save as PDF rather than print to PDF.  Your text will come out fine if you do.
